- Pearl Market (aka fake markets -- must see, there are several, overwhelming, cheap, fun)

- Ding Tai Feng (fanciest dumpling restaurant ever, possibly the best in china)

- Shanghai Circus (365 days a year, take line #1 to circus exit)
- If you have more time
- Take the train to Beijing, the Great Wall is a must-see (2-3 days)
- Visit Hangzhou, and see beautiful west-lake. Marco Polo dubbed this "beyond dispute the finest and the noblest in the world" (day trip)
- Visit Nanjing, capital of China for many years, tons of history (day trip)
